I completely agree that Excel has the potential to be a great medium for the creation of one-off, or long-tail, data analysis solutions. Why recreate the wheel for .NET (Resolver) when you can simply extend it with an add-in? The start-up that I work for has created an add-in for MS Office that enables direct access to .NET dynamic languages in Excel (and Word). It is called Inference for .NET, and developers and analysts can use it to create office business applications (dynamic documents) that can be executed in real time. Check it out at www.InferenceForDotNET.com and let me know what you think.
